25th Australasian Plant Pathology Society Conference
Registrations are now closed for 25th Australasian Plant Pathology Society (APPS) Conference that was held at the International Conference Centre in Sydney, NSW from 26 - 28 May 2025. The conference theme From Field to Future, Scientific Collections and Plant Pathology focused on the role of scientific collections.
Plant pathology collections are valuable to agriculture, ecology, and biosecurity, preserving specimens, and living cultures, from both economically and environmentally important plant species. The 25th APPS conference put the spotlight on these collections, highlighting their role in research and biosecurity and how they can be used, and improved, to ensure they continue to be a vital resource for researchers and decision makers into the future.

Bursaries
Bursaries are available for students and early career researchers (ECR) to attend APPS Conferences.
The bursaries will allow students or ECRs to attend either the APPS biennial conference or an APPS special interest group meeting during the non-biennial conference year.
Up to two bursaries will be provided for the biennial APPS conference per region to ensure students and ECRs from all branches of the APPS have an opportunity to apply.
To be eligible, ECRs must have been awarded a PhD within five years or longer if combined with periods of significant career interruption. Applicants without PhD qualifications but up to 10 years’ experience in the plant pathology industry, are also considered ECRs.
Bursaries will be awarded to the value of $1,500 to cover conference registration costs, flights and accommodation. If local applicants are attending, only the value of conference registration will be awarded.
APPS membership is not a requirement to apply, however applicants will be required to join in order to accept the bursary.
